We only knew each other fleetingly. Compatriotes and colleagues, we’d smile and greet each other. I was the assistant who moved your Korea Interview around so it suited you best. Our exchange then was lighthearted and positive – I knew how much you wanted to be top of that list. You came so close, too. Sadly this next round of interviews was without you.

When you walked into my creative workshop at the Away Day, colourful summery dress, I was pleased. We joked about the deeper meanings of the paintings created, but that was also the last time I saw you.

Not even three months later I got the sad news by e-mail to all colleagues.

I listened in at the Zoom Call remembering you, feeling that it would have been nice to be one of the people knowing you better.
