I met Uli in Tokyo Japan at the EU Delegation in 2012. She immediately impressed me because she was always cheerful and had a very intellectual approach to situations and files alike. This was accompanied with a sharp sense of humour which really helped us in some difficult circumstances. Uli could speak many languages including Greek (I was always impressed how she could master Japanese and Greek at the same time!) She was even very nice as a friend in helping my daughter prepare for her presentations at school (my daughter was at the time 8 years old and would come into the office late in the afternoon to present her work to Uli as a test case before doing the presentation at school.) Uli was also very choosy with her clothing, which I noticed was either flowery dresses or simply black accompanied with a red bag and her famous red lipstick. I tried below to upload a photo of her as I remember her. Dear Uli you will be missed a lot and I will never forget our reunion in Brussels,  many years after Tokyo, when you cheerfully received me with a glass of rosé champagne from your favourite cave! Take care dear Uli wherever you are now. Nikos
